Pumpkin Patch

The family went to the pumpkin patch so Tony and Adan could pick their own pumpkins. Tony was very excited to actually get it where it grows from. It was colder than I would have liked of course, and definitely more than José liked. I don't know how but I also forgot it's been raining for the last two weeks. But we foreged ahead to go find the perfect pumpkin.

We picked this cutie up at the cabbage patch.

Some nice guy helped us take a family picture while two ladies discussed between them how "healthy" my son was and how "well he must be fed".

Tony lost his first tooth last night. He had been working on it this entire week. On Tuesday after he finished his Chick-fil-A he was trying to use a napkin to help pull it out. It was coming apart in his mouth and choking him. It started to bleed. I thought it would freak him out and he would stop. He didn't. He merely said "I'm doing it for the tooth fairy" and continued on.
By Thursday night the tooth was only being held on by a corner. He think he had decided he wanted his tooth out but was trying to work up the courage. He was asking us if we would pull it and how hard each of us would pull it. We decided to let him do it. We gave him a washcloth and told him it was going to bleed a little bit. He continued to mess with it but he would never quite get the courage up to pull. He told me he didn't want to put the washcloth in his mouth to stop the bleeding so I got salt water and a spit cup. I told him he could use that instead. This apparently energized him. I got the video camera out just in case.
We counted him down. 1. 2. 3. He pulled. It came out. We all were a little shocked but not as much as Tony was. He was very proud of himself for pulling his own tooth and so were we. He didn't even cry.

Tony's first tooth.
Tony had fallen asleep on the couch. José had to wake him up just to put the tooth under his pillow. The last words Tony mumbled before he fell back to sleep were "I want money".

We ended up putting a paper towel in his mouth to stop the little bit of bleeding it did do.

He was so happy. He is trying to adjust to having the tooth missing now.
Hearing him say "I have a snake named Sam." is the funniest thing ever.

Daddy did very well too but I think he did cry a little. But so did I, so it's Ok.

I am trying to get the video posted because it's the most adorable thing you have ever seen.

Tony turns 7

Tony's 7th birthday party was Saturday. We have access to a large room at the police station with a projector so the kids could munch on junk food, watch a movie, and play games.
We had Tony at junk food.
Tony had lots of fun at his Star Wars themed party. All the party items were 3D along with the movie we watched.
The party games did not go like I imagined. I tried to keep it simple, fun and limit the possibilities of someone getting hurt. One in particular I was looking forward to was a balloon stomp game. Each person had a balloon tied to there ankle and goal was to pop everyone else's balloon before yours was popped. Unfortunately this game turned into a day at the races. The boys just ran around the group of chairs we had set up for the movie. It was bad version of duck duck goose. So I came up with the bright idea of enclosing them into a smaller area. We took four chairs and streamers and made a square. Well, this just resulted in a smaller circle the boys ran in. When it finally came down to two boys I decided they should hold on to each other's hand so they would have to stay close to each other.
BAD IDEA!
It almost became a injury inducing helicopter ride for the smaller boy. Needless to say the game quickly switched to a pop your own balloon the fastest.
After countless pieces of candy, bags of popcorn, cupcakes and ice cream, the party finally came to an end. No one was injured and Tony had a blast. He couldn't wait to get home and play with his new toys. We got everything home and unloaded and Tony began to listen to his new iPod he'd gotten. He was strutting around, singing, and acting like a such a big boy until I hear him belt out "if you liked it then you shoulda put a ring on it." Maybe not so grown up.
Thank you to everyone who could come.

Cutie Patootie Pictures

Adan is now officially taking baths in the bathtub. Mainly because he's too big for anywhere else and too young to just get hosed down.

Now this is Adan's older brother. I couldn't resist. Look at his little white butt...years from now I'll get to show this picture again.

Adorable

This is Adan. This is Adan watching TV. This is Adan watching TV with UFC on.
For those who don't know. UFC. Ultimate Fighting Championship.
Daddy is so proud.

Adulthood

Anna is now living with us full-time. One of her first official acts as an adult was getting a tattoo. She decided on the tattoo and her cousin, Sylvia, took her to get it done. Anna was suprised it didn't hurt as bad as she thought it would.

Labor Day Weekend

During Labor Day weekend we went to Beaver Lake to get out of the house and enjoy some of the great weather. We had lunch and then decided to go on a trail hike.

Tony was very impressed with the size of the damn. Not to mention he could say damn and not get into trouble.

Adan was having a fun time outside. His trips outside have mainly consisted of being carried from the car to inside of a building. He seemed to enjoy the day too.

On our little hike we found out part of the path was covered in weeds. Thanks to my anal-retentive packing we were able to continue after everyone got a dose of bug spray.

This was at the end of our little path. Yes that is Ashley hugging onto her brother for dear life because she was scared (even though she wouldn't admit it) and didn't want to get any closer to the edge.

Not all of us made it. Adan was worn out by all the walking. He is adorable!!! He gets that from Daddy.

Bad Blogger

I am going to be attempting to update the blog over the next weeks. It has been really hard to stay on top of it lately. I promise to do better ( or least come up with better excuses why I can't) in the future.

A lot has been happening in the Dominguez family. Between starting school, promotions and everyday life with a infant a lot is going on and hopefully you can all share it once the updates are complete.

Sink Bathing

I had been wanting to give Adan a bath in the sink for a while I just never did it. Apparently I waited to long because he barely fits it now. He did seem to enjoy it more than the bathtub because he was playing and splashing.

FYI. When Adan pees while sitting in the right sink, it goes into the left sink.

FYI. I cleaned both sinks.

The Sun As Interpreted By My Son.

Ths is another art completed by Adan. This is his sun. Thank god for non-toxic paint. This looks to close to food. I'm suprised the paper plate is torn up from him trying to suck on it thinking it was some kind of food.

Egg Art

I was surprised to learn Adan has art projects at his new daycare. This is his egg art. In the pictures you can see Adan is in a highchair and they have put a piece of paper down along with some paint and some plastic eggs. He then grabs the egg and rolls it around in the paint.
Presto! Egg art from a 4 month old. How adorable is that.

Conversations With A Six Year Old Boy

"Goodnight Tony."
"Look Jennie!"
"Tony I can't see you very well it's dark because your nightlight doesn't put light on the top bunk."
"I can see you. You are white. I'm really dark."
"Thank you Tony"
"You're reeeally white."
"Goodnight Tony"

**********************

"Dad, what are those?"
"Green peppers."
"You need to wash your hands and don't touch your eyes."
"Tony, these aren't hot peppers."
"Are they cold peppers then?"

**********************

"July 4th was lots of fun. I got long sparklers and you know what I did? There were two bugs and I almost caught them on fire. It was awesome."

Randomness

Adan is handling the bath much better these days. I think he might actually start to enjoy it. José gave him his bath this time. and according to Daddy and I quote "got his pee on twice in the tub"

It's been a hard week. We had to take his boppy away while he is sleeping because he is trying to roll over now. I think he is also teething. He was finally in a better mood last night with a little help from Tylenol.

Adan waking up in the morning. How cute!!!

My little budda belly. I've been told he has an gator belly or a puppy belly.

Tony is in love with his brother. He can't get enough of him...until he cries. That he could live without. But couldn't we all.

Young Guns 3

José took the girls to the firing range today for the first time. They both got to shoot his pistol. Ashley was surprised by how loud the guns were. They were going to get to shoot his 223 (a really big gun) but another instructor came with a class so they decided to leave.

Tonsillectomy

Tony had his tonsils taken out on Tuesday and the surgery went fine. He of course probably won't remember most of it because of the pain medication he was on.

Ironically, the anesthesiologist who put Tony out was the same one who did my epidural. Of course, José and the anesthesiologist had the same conversation regarding their haircuts. Both have obviously been in the military.

Tony was readmitted on Wednesday because he wouldn't take his medicine or drink according to his mother so the doctor wanted to admit him to monitor him. He should be getting out on Thursday morning and we'll have him back with us on Friday so I'll feel a lot better.

José took this picture on Tuesday before he left the hospital with his cell phone so forgive the quality.

I Already Know More Than My Parents

My sister took this picture over Memorial Day weekend and I just love it. We are definitely going to have problems with this one. Now we've just got to figure out whose look is that? Mine or José??
